This grass reaches 2-4 feet tall and 1-2 feet wide, and is commonly called Little Bluestem. Late summertime brings flowers that are inconspicuous when in bloom, but age to an attractive silvery shade. Leaf color can vary depending on the variety, but is usually bright green or blue in summer and dark red to light brown in fall and winter. Varieties include 'Blaze' (with leaves that turn red in fall) and 'The Blues' (with light blue leaves that turn burgundy red in cooler weather).
