At-A-Glance Information

Picture
This creeping perennial, commonly called Bacopa, is a great small-scale groundcover that produces tiny white flowers with golden throats. Also good in hanging baskets, provide Bacopa plants with afternoon shade, especially in the warmer climates of its zone range. It grows best in zones 15-17, 21-24 and H2 (to find your zone, click here: Zone Map), though it can grow anywhere as an annual. The original variety, widely sold under the variety name 'Snowflake' reaches 1-2 inches tall and spreads 3-4 feet wide eventually. Other commonly sold varieties include 'Giant Snowflake' (to 6-8 inches tall and 3-4 feet wide), 'Snowstorm' (more profuse bloomer, about the same size as 'Giant Snowflake'), 'Snowstorm Blue' (with blue flowers), 'Snowstorm Pink' (with pink flowers), and 'Olympic Gold' (leaves variegated with yellow).
