Commonly called Piggyback Plant, this perennial needs some shade to perform well and regular to ample water. These platns are native to the Coast Ranges from northern California up to Alaska. It grows best in zones A3, 4-9, 14-17, and 20-24, thought they can be grown indoors in any zone (to find your zone, click here: Zone Map). Foliage is green, triangular to heart-shaped, and leaves are shallowly lobed. Reddish-brown tiny flowers bloom on 1-2 foot tall stems. These make great groundcover choices for shaded areas, and will spread indefinitely by plantlets that root where they form. Great for hanging baskets, as well. Variety 'Taff's Gold' has leaves that are marked with chartreuse and yellow.
