Botanical Gardens of Africa
Botswana
Botswana has one main botanical garden, the National Botanical Garden in Gaborone (in the southeastern area of the country). It opened for the first time in 2007, and is managed by the Natural History Division of the Botswana National Museum. It is the first and only botanical garden created in the country, and features six distinct sections that represent Botswana's six different ecological regions: Chobe, Okavango and Salt Pans, Mophane Woodland, North-Eastern Kalahari, Mashatu, and South Western Kalahari.
