This species of perennial grass (commonly called Sea Oats or Bamboo Grass) forms clumps of broad, bamboo-like stems that support flowers in summertime. Spikelets resemble flat oats and turn copper in fall and dry to a green color; beautiful in dried arrangements. Cut down before spring growth begins to neaten appearance and discourage self-seeding.
