Dahlia campanulata (Weeping Tree Dahlia) Native to the states of Guerrero and Oaxaca in Mexico. Flowers are large and white with reddish-purple centers, and droop from their attachments, creating quite a show for visitors underneath the canopy. These plants are hard to find in the nursery trade, and are considered rare in cultivation. Plants grow from underground tubers in the spring, and after flowering shed all of their above-ground parts. Weeping Tree Dahlia reaches about 8 feet tall when in bloom. |
