At-A-Glance InformationKnown under the alternate name Agropyron magellanicus and commonly as Magellan Wheatgrass. This perennial, nearly evergreen grass forms clumps of metallic blue-green foliage 1.5 feet tall and wide, and produces insignificant summertime flowers. These grasses are lovely in container plantings, and contrast well against bright flower colors and plum or chocolate colored foliage. Magellan Wheatgrass grows well in zones 3-6, 14-17 and 21-24.
