Grapetopetalum paraguayense
( grap - toh - PET - al - um )
At-A-Glance InformationAlso called Ghost Plant, this succulent perennial needs full sun to partial shade and little water. They are native to Mexico, and form a mound 8 inches tall and a foot wide. Its stems can branch and creep, spilling over container edges or steps, and is great as a groundcover where there is little foot traffic. Rosettes can range in color from blue to grey to yellowish-pink in full sun. Flowers bloom on branching stems in white or yellow. These do not do well in desert conditions, but will tolerate cooler temperatures (down to about 25 degrees Fahrenheit). They grow best in zones 17 and 19-24. To find your zone, click here: Zone Map.
