Psidium cattleanum (Strawberry Guava) This species does well in zones 9, 14-24, H1 and H2, and can be grown as a single trunked tree or shrub. Red to golden-brown bark and new bronze leaves that mature to glossy green. Fruit is dark red with white flesh and a sweet-tart flavor. Variety Psidium cattleanum lucidum has a more open, taller growth habit, green-grey bark and larger yellow-skinned fruit. |
