Heliopsis helianthroides
( hee - lee - OPP - sis )
At-A-Glance InformationThis species, commonly called Ox-Eye Sunflower, of flowering perennial plants needs full sun and moderate water. The flowers will attract butterflies to your garden. They are native to the eastern areas of North America over to Arizona. Most are 3-4 feet tall and 3 feet wide. Flowers are yellow, and blooms may need to be staked to stop flowers from drooping over. All varieties make great flowers for borders and make wonderful cut flowers for fresh arrangements.
