At-A-Glance InformationCommonly called Plantain Lily, this perennial species forms clumps of foliage and are perfect understory plants. Summertime flowers form on spikes, and can be blue, lavender, or white. These plants range in size from a width of a few inches to more than 5 feet. Foliage color varies from lime green to blues, whites, yellows and greys. All Hosta are native to eastern Asia and will go dormant and lose all of their leaves in wintertime.
