Layia patyglossa
( LAY - ee - uh )
At-A-Glance InformationThis annual, also called Tidytips, needs full sun and little to no water. It is a classic springtime wildflower that loves meadows and other grasslands. Its yellow flowers are tipped in white and its leaves are grey-green. This is a very drought-tolerant choice for gardens and is wonderful when planted among other wild-looking flowers. It will self-sow and naturalize in well-drained planting sites as long as it does not have to compete much with other plants for water and light. Tidytips grows best in zones 1-10 and 14-24.
