At-A-Glance InformationMysotis, also called Forget-Me-Not, is a genus of annual, perennial and biennial flowering plants that need partial shade and regular water. They bloom profusely in tiny blue flowers during the springtime months, and grow easily and densely as groundcover. They are in their element in cool, moist areas and love to be included in woodland gardens. They are not usually made snacks by deer.

Myosotis scorpioides (Water Forget-Me-Not) This perennial native to Europe, Asia and North America is a fan of constantly moist conditions. They are very successful growing along ponds and streams. Flowers usually are blue with yellow eyes, though varieties come in white and pink, as well. This species spreads by creeping roots. |
Myosotis sylvatica This species can be treated as a biennial or annual and is native to Europe. This is the state flower of Alaska, and grows 6-12 inches tall and spreads to 2 feet wide. Foliage is soft ad green, and flowers are blue with white eyes. Blooms and seeds profusely from late winter through early springtime. Varieties include 'Blue Ball', 'Royal Blue Improved' and 'Victoria Blue'. They look great planted under pink or salmon tulips. |
