Phalaris arundinacea picta
( ??? )
At-A-Glance Information
Commonly called Ribbon Grass or Gardner's Garters, this species of perennial grass needs full sun to partial shade and regular water to perform well. These grasses are native to North America and Eurasia, and are hardy and spread aggressively. Flower clusters are airy and white, and foliage turns buff in fall. Grow in large containers, or use buried barriers when installing these plants in your garden. Varieties include 'Woods Dwarf' (with bright white striping), and 'Feesey' (with white stripes that blush pink during cool weather).
